Sofia Vergara | Defends Colombia After Secret Service Scandal

Sofia Vergara News: Colombian heartthrob and media darling Sofia Vergara defends her native country's name following the scandal of U.S Secret Service agents hiring prostitutes in Cartagena.


"Never, never in my life have I heard or examine anyone getting to Colombia specifically to appear for simple ladies, and one scandal is not getting to modification that. The press likes to produce controversy and to generalize the news and that i wasn't prepared for that. From this Secret Service incident nobody will injury the image of our ladies. (...) the great image of Colombia is extremely sturdy internationally and has several powerful ambassadors," Vergara told the Spanish version of the Huffington Post.


The incident, that concerned a gaggle of U.S. Secret Service agents and military personnel hiring twenty one prostitutues days before the beginning of the Summit of the Americas last month, has garnered legion negative attention for Cartagena, Colombia's premier tourist destination.



The 40-year-old Vergara, star of the hit comedy "Modern Family," created waves on when revealing her breasts in a very photo unfold for Mexican GQ magazine.
